Pouakai is the Māori name for a mythology beast known as the famed Haast Eagle. Now extinct, it was common to South Island of New Zealand, with a wingspan of up to three metres and could fell an adult Moa in one strike.
We chose to name our production company after this magnificent creature as we felt it had a unique connection to the southland Island, it's lore and legend an inspiration to many.
We have a diverse range of skills and dedication to telling true and unique southland stories.
